There will be 8-16 scholarships awarded annually.

Preference Criteria

Priority will be given to female students.
Special consideration will be given to applicants facing financial barriers to education.

Application Requirements

The completed scholarship application should be emailed to Sameera.scholarships@gmail.com
Required: A 2-4 page essay addressing your personal story highlighting your journey, challenges, or experiences shaping your character and goals. Connect this story to your academic pursuits and the Sameera Memon scholarship’s purpose. Address your academic achievements, career goals, and how the scholarship will contribute to your success.
An optional reference letter from a person of your choosing who can speak to your work ethic, personality, and future goals.
An optional 1-minute video introducing yourself to the scholarship committee.

Required Essay Guidelines

Highlight your personal story. We want to get to know you, your personality, and your aspirations. You can discuss your academic achievements and any relevant coursework or projects.
Outline your career goals and how the scholarship will support your aspirations.
Explain how your background and experiences align with the values of the Sameera Memon Scholarship.
Discuss any challenges you have faced in pursuing your education and how you have overcome them.

Optional Reference Letter Guidelines

The reference letter should be emailed directly to sameera.scholarship@gmail.com addressing the scholarship committee with the following in the subject line:
“Reference for (Name of applicant)”
The reference letter should provide insights into your work ethic, personality, attitude, and future goals.
The referee can be anyone of your choosing, such as a professor/teacher, employer, or community leader.
The letter should highlight specific examples that demonstrate your character and potential for success in your chosen field.

Optional Video Guidelines:

If you choose to submit a video, it should be a maximum of 1 minute in duration.
Introduce yourself and tell us something you didn’t say in your application already. Highlight a unique quality, achievement, or perspective that sets you apart. This could be an accomplishment, a personal characteristic, or an experience that demonstrates your suitability for the scholarship.
The video should be clear, well-lit, and audible.

Submission Deadline:

Selection Process:

Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a brief 30-45 minute interview
Recipients will be selected based on a combination of academic merit, financial need, and alignment with the scholarship’s values.

Award Amount:

The scholarship amount and the number of recipients will be determined by the scholarship committee. The scholarship may cover educational expenses determined by the scholarship committee.
